Philip Glass – Akhnaten (operă în trei acte)

Akhnaten este o operă în trei acte scrisă de compozitorul american Philip Glass în anul 1983. Conține pasaje în akkadiană (cea mai veche limbă semitică), în ebraică, în egipteană mijlocie, precum și engleză și germană.

Opera descrie viața și convingerile faraonului Akhenaton, singurul faraon care a reformat vechea religie politeistă într-una monoteistă avându-l în centru pe zeul Aton.

Cel mai frumos pasaj este acesta – Window Of Appearances, cu versurile mai jos, în egipteană și engleză.
